This event brings together artists and scholars, scientists and creatives, to discuss the intersections, continuities, and disconnects in their collective work on cultural heritage and preservation.

This invitation-only event—to be held in person at the Academy on Thursday, June 27—celebrates one hundred years of the Classical Summer School.

The first seminar organized by our inaugural Getty Global Affiliated Fellows will engage the boundaries of Mediterranean history, addressing themes and issues that continue to receive relatively little scholarly attention.

AAR will host a panel of the Associazione Internazionale di Archeologia Classica (AIAC), in that organization’s long-standing Incontri series. The theme for this evening is Immagini e società.
